Just Another Morning at the Maraj-Samuels Household

Crystal's Note: Hey TM :) I missed this little family, didn't you? I really hope you guys enjoy reading this cute little one-shot I wrote in approximately ten minutes (new record!). Just so you know, I write Mikayla's dialogue the way she pronounces some words in my head. Leave a comment! xoxoxoxo

Story Title: Just Another Morning at the Maraj-Samuels Household

If there was something Mikayla Maraj-Samuels loved more than anything in the world , it was playing princess. The grey-eyed toddler enjoyed putting on pink, sparkly tiara's and talking in an imperfect British accent. It was currently seven o' clock in the morning and the restless child decided to get up and play her favorite game while the rest of the house, minus her sister, was asleep.

"I am the Barbie princess!" the three-year old shouted, prancing around her room in a pink leotard and a white glittery tutu. She held a wand in the shape of a star and waved it at her toys. Mikayla owned about a hundred different barbies, which were all customized in her favor. She even had dolls that resembled Nicki, Safaree and Zaiann. The little diva began to cast enchanting spells until her older sister knocked on the door.

"Who is it?!"

"Zai! Can I come in?"

"NO!"

"MOMMY! KAY DOESN'T LET ME IN HER ROOM!"

Nicki nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard her daughter scream. She was currently sleeping in her master bedroom until she was suddenly awaken by Zaiann's extremely loud voice. Even after getting five hours of troubled sleep, Nicki managed to look radiant. The mother groaned then felt the side of her bed, expecting to find her husband there. He unfortunately wasn't.

"Safaree?" She called, scanning the room. He was nowhere in sight.

"GET OUT OF MY ROOM, I DON'T LIKE YOU! UGLY!" Mikayla yelled, obviously upset at the intruder. Nicki rubbed her aching head then sighed. She hated when her girls fought; it was something they did often.

Nicki got out of her bed and was greeted by one of her bodyguards at the door.

"Good morning Nicki, Safaree told me to tell you that he would be back by noon. His sister needed his assistance."

"Shopping for her baby?" The mother asked. Kyle simply nodded in return and moved to the side so Nicki could pass.

"If he calls, I'll be in the girls room. Make sure some breakfast is being cooked for them. And don't forget to tell Lee-Ann about Kay's vitamins!"

Kyle already knew these things but nodded in understanding anyway. Paige, Nicki's current assistant was downstairs cooking omelets with bacon and Lee-Ann, who was Zaiann and Mikayla's nutritionist, was already out buying a new bottle of tinker bell vitamins. Nicki never had to worry about the absence of good service in her house, her team was always there to keep things under control. Ever since she had the girls, she knew extra help would be needed. Her hectic schedule and lifestyle was too much for her daughters and she vowed, along with her husband, to keep them out of it as much as they could. So far, the mother of two thought they were doing just fine.

Until the girls fought, that is.

"Gimme back my wand! It's mine, butt head!"

"I just wanna see it, you fugly witch!"

"I'm not a witch! I'M A PRINCESS!"

"NO YOU ARE NOT!"

"Yes. I. AM!"

"GIRLS!"

Zaiann and Mikayla immediately stopped and looked at their highly-upset mother. She stood by the doorway and waited for her girls to calm down. Both hands were placed firmly on her hips and her brown eyes seemed to burn into both of her daughters faces. Zaiann let go of the wand and dropped her gaze to the floor. Mikayla, on the other hand, smiled brightly at her mother, showing off her two missing teeth. Nicki couldn't help but think she was the cutest little thing in the world and tried hard to stifle her laugh.

"Now which one of you want to tell me what is going on here? And DO NOT talk over each other, understand?" Nicki said, keeping her tone strict and motherly. Mikayla, as brave as she was, dared to raise her hand.

"I guess we'll start with you lady bug. What happened?"

"I was playing with my wand and my dollies, then all of a sutten, Zai comes in without my permishion and takes my wand! She said I'm not a princess mommy." The three-year old briefly shared, feeling sad about the last part. Nicki looked at her oldest daughter who was too afraid to look back.

"Zai, come here please."

"No."

"Zai, I said to come here. You know mommy gets upset when you don't listen."

"But I didn't do anything!"

"Zai,"

"She's the one who started it! If she just let me in her room without-"

"Zaiann, come here. Now." The frustrated mother said, waiting patiently for her daughter to approach her. Zaiann groaned then began to take small steps. Nicki crossed her arms against her chest and continued to wait.

"I can stand here all day Zai. You can be cute all you want but I'm not going anywhere."

"UGH!"

In a matter of seconds, the feisty seven-year old stomped her way to her mother. Nicki bent down so she was at eye-level with the child then began to speak.

"Why did you come into Kay's room without her permission?"

"Because she didn't want me in here!"

"Don't raise your voice at me, understand? I'm not raising my voice at you, am I?"

The upset girl nodded a brief "no" as tears began to descend from her hazel eyes. As much as it pained Nicki to do this, she knew discipline was necessary for her girls.

"Exactly. Now, I've told you a thousand times before that you have your own room and so does Kay. That is obviously for a reason Zai. If she doesn't want to be bothered, just leave her alone. And you, I don't like the fact that you wanna be screaming so loud at her your sister. I told you about that already."

"Sorry mommy, it won't happen again." Mikayla immediately apologized, smiling at her mother afterwards. Nicki rolled her eyes then turned back to her oldest.

"No crying baby girl, I'm not going to punish you but I am giving you a warning. I don't like when you girls fight. You know that."

Zaiann nodded then reached out for a hug. She held onto her mother tightly then whispered one last apology in her ear before letting go.

"So, we have an agreement? No more fighting?"

"Yes, mommy." Both girls said in unison. Nicki smiled then spotted the barbie doll that was made to look like her. She picked it up and began to examine its appearance.

"Kay, why is my hair missing?" Nicki asked, staring at the bald doll in horror. Mikayla, along with her older sister giggled.

"Zai did it! She said since daddy is a baldie, you are a baldie too!" The three-year old informed her, holding out the ken doll that resembled her father. Nicki laughed as an idea popped into her head.

"Oh really? Mmm... hey Zai?"

"Yes?"

"Get me daddy's razor. I'm gonna shave Kay's hair and see how she feels."

Mikayla's grey eyes looked like they were going to pop out of their sockets as she began to scream and ran away from her mother, who began to chase her around the room.

"I'm going to get you, you crazy bug! Come here!"

"No!" The small girl giggled. She continued to run away until Nicki caught her and began to tickle her.

A few minutes later, SB arrived and searched for his family by checking every room. Once he reached Mikayla's room he couldn't help but stand by the door and watch his beautiful girls laugh and play, including their flawless mother. An inevitable smile formed on his face as Zaiann pretended to shave off Mikayla's hair with his razor.

"So I leave for an hour and this is what I come back too?" He announced as all three of them stopped. Mikayla, happy at the sight of her father, escaped from her mother and sister then jumped on SB.

"Daddy!"

"Hey Kay! What's up baby girl?"

"It's been quite a morning daddy! I fought with Zai and mommy yelled at us, then she started to chase me around with your razor! You missed it!" Mikayla exclaimed with excitement as SB laughed.

"Really? Well that's okay, we can just chase mommy around with my razor." SB offered, looking at his wife with a devious smile.

Nicki, suddenly feeling like a target, tried to push past her husband but failed miserably and ended up being attacked on the floor. While the girls held her down, SB pretended to shave her head and laughed.

It was just another morning at the Maraj-Samuels household.

Wig Wars

Crystal's Note: Hello my beautiful, lovely and amazing readers! Here's the second installment of the 'Our Family' series! There will be plenty of these to come and I hope you enjoy them. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions, prompts, etc, tweet me @SUPERCrystalx3! xoxo

"I'm NEEKI MEENAJ!" Mikayla shouted, parading around the nearly vacant room with one of Nicki's black bob's. The only thing that the white walls sheltered were Nicki's fifty-two wigs and the wooden shelves that kept them in place. Safaree tried hard not to laugh too loud then took a picture of his charismatic daughter.

"I'm putting this one on twitter, Kay. The team is going to spazz." The father informed the three-year old who did nothing but grin, and then transpired into her own rendition of 'Super Bass'.

"Boy you got my heart and it's running away! Don't you hear it, boom boom, boom boom, HEY! YOU GOT THAT SUPA BASS!"

"Why is Kay screaming like thatOoooooo! Mommy's gonna kill you!" Zaiann said, staring at her little sister whose gray eyes were now tinted with fear. SB pulled his oldest daughter into the room and closed the door before the napping female rapper could hear them. After their house guests left, which included Joyce, Terrence and her best friends, Nicki decided to sleep for the rest of the afternoon. The exhaustion had finally caught up to her and she just couldn't bear it any longer. Doing interviews, photoshoots and recording new tracks could wear a mother of two out. SB understood this and was left in charge of the girls. So far, things were off to a bad start.

"Shhh! Mommy doesn't know and she's not gonna know. So don't be a big mouth, Zai or I'll beat you up." SB playfully threatened, receiving a dirty look in return. Sometimes he would act like the child instead of the parent, something Nicki wasn't very fond of. He just loved to spend time with his daughters and see those perfect curves on their perfect faces. SB could be in the worst mood possible, but when Mikayla said something cute or when Zaiann called him in the middle of the night so he could protect her from the "Boogeyman", he would feel this inevitable feeling in his heart.

He later learned that it was the feeling of a happy and very proud parent.

"You wouldn't! I'll scream so loud that mommy will wake up." Zaiann replied, rolling her almond-shaped eyes after. She was definitely an exact duplicate of her mother; sassy, enthusiastic and bossy. Not only did she have her mothers traits, but she also inherited her looks.

The seven year-old, who was holding a pink iPad, got back to playing her math game and sat on the smooth beige carpet. Nicki didn't allow the girls to have games like Temple Run or Angry Birds on their electronic devices. She thought that it would distract them from more important things, such as reading books or completing their homework assignments. So she decided to let them download educational apps only. Not only were they fun but they also helped broaden their learning. SB, of course, agreed with the mothers reasoning but retaliated by letting the girls play regular games on his iPad every once and a while.

It was a secret they managed to keep from the strict mother and artist.

Zaiann, who was wearing a pink and black striped shirt, dark blue jeans, and grey uggs, got hit in the head by a wig. It was Nicki's long and crimped blonde one. She threw it back then continued on with her game.

"Zaiiiiiiiii! Let's play! I'll be mommy and you'll be daddy!" Mikayla said, snatching the green and black fitted off of SB's head.

"Ew! Leave it on his head! He has a recesity hairline!" Zaiann exclaimed, hoping that her father would get mad. She loved to tease him, it was just something they always did to each other. Mikayla and SB, however, had a much sweeter bond.

"It's receding and shut up before I bust your big head open." SB replied, grabbing the hat out of Mikayla's hands and placed it on his head after.

"YOU shut up, or I'll wake mommy up and tell her you and Kay are messing with her wigs!"

The father took this as a challenge.

"Oh really, that's how you wanna be?"

Safaree stood up then grabbed his oldest daughter. He swung her around and laughed when she started to giggle uncontrollably.

"Put me down, daddy!" She yelled, giggling inbetween her words. SB hung her upside down and refused.

"No punk, first say you love me and that I'm the best dad in the world."

"NO!!!!!"

"Kay, get that green wig and wack her with it." SB ordered as the small girl complied.

"Ow! Stop it! DAAAAAAAAD!" Zaiann yelped as SB finally let her go.

Not expecting it, Mikayla was attacked by a whole row of wigs after Zaiann took them and threw them one by one at the three-year old.

"STUPID! I DON'T LIKE YOU!" Mikayla screamed, throwing a few of them back. SB joined the war and realized the mess of colorful wigs that covered the floor.

"Girls, we gotta clean this up before mommy-"

"My WIGS!" the owner of them said, staring at the sight in horror. Nicki was suddenly angry and shot a cold glare at her husband then at her daughters.

"It was daddy!" Zaiann and Mikayla said in unison, pointing an accusing finger at him. SB tried hard not to crack a smile and avoided eye contact with his wife as she stood by the door with her hands on her hips.

The rest of their day was about to get really interesting.

A Day in the Park

Crystal's Note: Hey guys! I am thrilled for you to read my one-shot and let me know what you think! It's been light-years since I have posted something up and I'm just getting started. I really hope you all enjoy this, I put a lot of thought into it. Without further ado, read on!

Title: A Day in the Park

The streets were paved with mounts of pearl white snow. The sight was utterly captivating and Zaiann Maraj-Samuels couldn't help but stare in awe. The seven-year old smiled up at her father who immediately smiled back. The black Ford Expedition that had driven them there silently left the scene as the father and daughter stood in front of the vacant park. Zaiann's soft hazel eyes lingered on the view a bit longer until a black BMW interrupted her admiration. SB was happy to see his wife step out of the shiny vehicle, clad in a fuchsia pea coat, a pair of black AG Adriano Goldschmied skinny jeans and fuchsia, low-top Dr. Martens that complimented the upper half of her attire. She also wore a black bob that gracefully hung past her shoulders. Her make-up consisted of light pink lipstick and simple black eye liner. Onika, who preferred to be called Nicki, straightened her coat than lent out a hand to her second daughter, Mikayla, so she could step out.

The small three-year old was breathtakingly beautiful. Her huge, glossy eyes were a light gray, a color that one parent had the gene for, thanks to their great-grandmother. The child also had mocha colored skin and dark brown waves of hair. With a stunning, toothless smile, how can anyone deny the beauty this toddler held?

"Daddy!" Mikayla exclaimed, jumping happily into her fathers arms. SB gratefully accepted the love and held his youngest daughter tight. The reason why the family was momentarily separated for the day was because Nicki had a business trip in L.A and Zaiann had a doctor's appointment, so SB agreed to take her. Both parents decided on Nicki taking Mikayla with her, since the two girls happened to fight in public settings all the time.

Nicki smiled then turned her attention to Zaiann, who scrunched her nose and exposed her crestfallen expression.

"Oh really Zai? That's how you feel?" Nicki questioned as the little girl crossed her arms in front of her chest and nodded, trying to hide her inevitable smile. Nicki's facial expression softened and transformed into a pout.

"Do you see that, babe? Zai doesn't love me." The mother of two whined as Mikayla gave her older sister a scolding look.

"Meanie! Say hi to mama!" Mikayla demanded, getting a laugh out of Nicki. SB tickled the three-year old and was delighted with the bubbly laugh he got in response.

"No! Mama said she isn't getting me a puppy for Christmas. I don't like her anymore."

Nicki gasped as she bent down to face Zaiann.

"How can you say that?! Me and daddy cleared out this whole park for you! Aren't you happy with that?"

"NO."

SB and Mikayla giggled, which got a death glare from Nicki.

"You shouldn't say things like that Zai. Be happy mommy is even getting you something for Christmas." SB added, trying to better the situation. Zaiann's face dropped as she continued to whine.

"But you're a zillionaire mommy! Why can't I get a puppy?"

Nicki sighed as she tucked a piece of loose hair behind Zaiann's ear. The mother took a moment to observe her daughter's flawless display. Loose black curls that reached just above her shoulders, milk chocolate skin, the same dainty nose as hers and those stunning hazel eyes. Sometimes Nicki couldn't believe the eye color's that her girls inherited and thought it was a gift from God himself. Those eyes never failed to tug at her heart-strings, especially Mikayla's.

"Baby, it's not that I don't want to get you one. I just don't know if you're ready to take on that responsibility yet."

"But I AM ready!" Zaiann insisted.

"Zai, just let it go." SB urged.

"But it's not fair! Everyone back at home has one! Leah, Zeplin, Grace…"

"Zaiann, listen. I don't want to talk about this here, okay? Just enjoy yourself for now. Go play with your little sister."

Unhappy, Zaiann stomped off and was soon followed by Mikayla who tried to keep up. Nicki stood up from her position and instantly accepted her husbands embrace. She felt warm and safe, as always.

"Am I a bad mother?"

"Nic, don't be ridiculous. It's a goddamn animal. She'll get over it." SB assured. Nicki laid her head on his chest and watched as Mikayla dumped snow on Zaiann's head then got chased for revenge.

"Yeah, but, did you hear what she said? She knows we have money and because of that, she thinks she can get anything she wants. I don't like that."

"Is that the real reason you don't want to get it for her? Because she'll continue to think that?"

"Maybe. I don't know. I guess. Ugh. I just want her to know that hard work is how you achieve what you want."

"And she will know that, as long as she has the best mommy in the world to teach her."

Nicki smiled up at Safaree then accepted a soft, chaste kiss on the lips. SB leaned in for another one but was rudely interrupted by a snowball that hit the side of his head.

Mikayla laughed her charming, bubbly laugh out loud then ran as soon as SB parted from Nicki to go after her.

"Oh my god, Kay! You crazy little bug!" Nicki yelled, laughing at the sight of SB being attacked by a three-year old with badly assembled snow balls.

In the midst of the scene, Zaiann snuck up on her mother and threw a huge snowball at her. The extremely cold object hit Nicki right in her face, which caused everyone to stop and stare with their mouths open. Adding to it, SB and Mikayla threw two more snowballs, one landing on Nicki's pea coat and the other on her Dr. Martens. At this point, everyone started to laugh (except for Nicki) and ran off.

"That was for saying you're not getting me a puppy!" Zaiann yelled, running out of her mothers reach. Nicki soon went after them and caught up to Mikayla.

"Come here Mikayla-ayla," Nicki said, catching the small girl. She spinned her around, which got a few giggles, then threw her onto the snow. Her black pea coat was covered in the cold substance and her gray eyes lit up with laughter.

"One down, two more big baby's to go!" the mother said, chasing after them. SB threw mounts of snow at her, which caused her to lose balance and fall. Zaiann laughed then continued to run with her father.

"You can't catch me!" Zaiann claimed, standing on top of a wooden bench triumphantly. SB laughed then yelled out a diss.

"Look at her wig, Zai! It's all wet and crusty."

Nicki stood up and tried hard not to show her dismay.

"That's it, I'm tired of ya'll asses already!" Nicki shouted, picking up a huge amount of snow, then clumsily threw it at her targets. She expectantly missed.

The family of four spent the next hour and a half throwing snow at each other, playing several games of freeze tag (literally), laughing at SB when he fell off of the big kid swing, then laughing at Nicki when she got stuck in the baby swing. It was a pleasant afternoon and the parents were glad to escape the harsh and difficult world of their careers. Nicki was the Queen of Hip-Hop and after ten years of making top chart hits and breaking endless amounts of records, it was nice to know she could slow down, start a family and enjoy a day with them. She spent a lot of time performing, attending award shows, and signing artists to her new label that she barely had time to spend with her two baby girls and her husband. As much as it pained her and SB, their children understood the nature of the job and respected what their mommy and daddy did for a living. It wasn't easy, but the four of them managed to work through it, together.

"Alright sexy ladies, who wants me to carry them on my back?" Safaree asked, expecting to get a big "Me!" from all of them. He instead, ended up getting the complete opposite.

"EW."

"Nu-uh."

"No thank you daddy."

Mikayla was the only polite one which made SB smile.

"See, Kay respects me. I don't know why you and Zai don't."

"Shut up, Safaree. Did you call our driver?" the mother asked, annoyed with the large specks of snow all over her clothes, hair and inside her boots. She was so ready to go home, take a long hot shower, and stay up watching Barbie movies with her girls.

"Don't tell daddy to shut up!" Mikayla defended, giving her mother an angry look. SB smiled happily then grabbed his youngest daughters hand.

"Yeah, what she said. Nigguh."

"Ooo! Daddy used inappropriate language!" Zaiann exclaimed as she pointed an excusing finger at him.

The girls had a home school teacher, Ms. Robinson, who taught them exceptionally well. They had a wide range of vocabulary for their age, something Nicki always found amazing.

"It's okay baby, I'll get him later." Nicki promised, giving him a look. SB's gaze dropped to the floor, avoiding her inflammable wrath.

Not only was SB her husband, but he was also her best friend. Whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on, a hand to hold or an ear that would listen, he was the first person she went too. They remained at each other sides for over fifteen years now and their playful banter never changed. They never expected for their close friendship to bloom into a beautiful and blessed marriage, but neither could complain about the outcome. Nicki was always grateful for him, despite their fights and disagreements. There was no other man who could compare, there was simply no other man for her. With her soul mate and two beautiful daughters, she was finally complete.

"Car's here!" Zaiann shouted as she raced to the large vehicle with her sister. Safaree held out his hand and waited for Nicki to take it.

"No, you used a bad word in front of the girls."

"Baby,"

"I'm mad at you Safaree."

"It won't happen again."

"That's what you said the last time!"

"Nic,"

"No nigga don't 'Nic' me! Why would you-"

Nicki was stopped by a passionate, I-want-you-now kiss. She slowly parted then looked into SB's lust-filled eyes.

Her insides involuntarily tingled which caused her to blush a bright red. SB reached out to caress her gorgeous face and made her look at him.

"Still mad at me?"

"Maybe." Nicki replied in a soft tone. The proud man smirked.

"Well once we get home, maybe I can take away all that anger."

"Maybe." Nicki replied as she shook her head then kissed SB once more before approaching the car and driving away.
